In December 2012, the Home Builders Association of Illinois presented it's annual "Of the Year" awards during the HBAI Installation of Officers Ceremony. The awards were presented to: Edward F. Paliatka of American Colony Homes.....Builder of the Year Congratulations to Kevin, Dawn, David and to all the members that were nominated! We encourage them to continue to support their HBA's efforts! 2012 “Associate Of the Year” Awards The Associate of the Year Nominees: Jim Lauwerens of the United Community Bank – Springfield Area HBA Susan Mason of Springfield Electric & Lighting Center – Springfield Area HBA Heather Runge of Nicor – Northern Illinois HBA The 2012 Associate of the Year’s Membership Drive in started in April has produced 38 new members and represents the best membership campaign in their local’s history! The Associate of the Year, developed a year-long themed membership campaign that involves retention as well as recruitment and continues to play a big part in the success of the membership committee. They have been active as a board member of Fox Valley and now a board member of the merged organization having served on numerous local committees including, membership and programs throughout the four locals they are an active member.

The 2012 Remodeler of the Year as served as the President of their local HBA, committee chair and member, community volunteer, which shows a deep level of commitment to the industry, local HBA and community. Among the many awards and achievements to their credit include the Rookie of the Year, 2 - National Franchise of the Year awards, Big 50, Guildmaster Award for excellence in Customer Satisfaction in 2010 & 2011. In addition to his dedication to his industry and community, he enjoys family time, church activities, reading, watching the Packers and cooking. The HBAI Remodeler of the Year for 2012 is Curt Trampe -- Dream Maker Bath and Kitchens – Springfield Area HBA! **************************************************************************************
2012 “Builder Of the Year” Award The 2012 Builder of the Year Nominees: Frank Buraski of Buraski Builders – Springfield Area HBA Edward F. Paliatka of American Colony Homes – South Suburban HBA Brandon Weiss of Weiss Building and Development – Northern Illinois HBA The 2012 Builder of the Year has built over 1,000 apartments, 500 condominiums and over 500 homes in the Chicago Area. He was a charter member of the SSHBA PAC and has held numerous leadership positions over his 40 year dedication and commitment to the Home Building Industry. “Time Magazine” has profiled him as an outstanding apartment builder in the Chicago market. During his service to the Illinois Building Industry he has earned 336 Spikes, making him a NAHB Super Spike.He has been described as a strong and selfless member of HBAI and the Chicago area Home Builders Associations for the past 40 years. His long term influence to the associations cannot be overlooked, as he has been a voice of wisdom to many for most of his career.
