Terry Ruhland is the
President of Plum Creek Builders, a design/build custom homebuilder in the
Peoria area. Started in 1987, Plum Creek Builders specializes in unique designs
and personalized service. A member of the Home Builders Association of Greater
Peoria since 1990, Terry has served on the Board of Directors there since 1992.
Ruhland was President of the Peoria local in 1998 and has been active in local
and state governmental affairs issues.
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT Ted Schieler, CGB, CSP - Schieler & Rassi Quality Builders, Inc.
Ted Schieler is the
General Manager of Schieler & Rassi. Ted grew up in the trades working
along with his father, Bob Schieler, one of the founding partners of Schieler
& Rassi. Ted brings over 16 years experience in the residential and
commercial building arena. Ted served as President of the Home Builders
Association of Greater Peoria in 2002 and remains active in the local and state
Home Builders Association. Ted maintains his CGB and CSP designation from the
National Association of Home Builders and is a graduate of the University of
Illinois. Ted and his wife, Peggy, reside in Goodfield with their children, BJ
and Mariah.
1ST VICE PRESIDENT Brian Masterson, Countrywide Home Loans
Brian Masterson is a 10
year employee of Countrywide and is responsible for business development,
recruiting, loan officer sales training and financial reporting of the
company's new construction and builder lending initiatives in Countrywide's 10
State Midwest Division. Brian is a past six year Board member of the
Will-Grundy Home Builders and Associates and currently serves as the their Area
Vice President and voting representative to the Home Builders Association of
Illinois. Currently, he serves as a member of several HBA committees and
subcommittees specializing in membership, legislative & political issues
and member benefits. Brian resides in Homer Glen, IL with his wife Karrie and
their three children.
2ND VICE PRESIDENT Tracy Holmes, Studio H Designs
Tracy Holmes is the
president of Studio H, a leading design firm specializing in model home
merchandising and sales center design. Tracy serves as President of the South
Suburban Home Builders Association's Sales and Marketing Council and received
her MIRM designation from NAHB in 2007. A recipient of NAHB's and Professional
Builder's 2006 "Best in American Living Award"; Tracy was also honored as the
HBAGC Associate Member of the Year, 2005. A committee member since its
inception, this year Tracy Holmes serves as the Vice Chair and Education
Chairman for the Midwest Builder's Show and Conference. Tracy currently lives
in Chicago with her husband and three children.
TREASURER Michael Nagel, CGR, CAPS - Remodel One, Inc.
Mike Nagel, CGR, CAPS, is the
President of the design/build remodeling firm Remodel One, which he founded in
1985 and is headquartered in Roselle, IL. He is an NAHB national life director,
Build-PAC trustee, and life director of his local home builders association.
Mike was most recently named chairman of the NAHB Remodelors in 2007. He holds
a variety of leadership positions within the remodeling industry and serves on
industry trade show and publication advisory boards.

Scott Eckstein is the Owner
and President of James Scott Custom Builders, based in Naperville, Illinois.
Scott began in the remodeling business in 1986 and has owned James Scott Custom
Builders since 1991. Over the past 17 years, his company has received dozens of
awards through its participation in the past six "Cavalcade of Homes." Scott
served as the President of Northern Illinois Home Builders Association (NIHBA)
in 2003 and has twice been named Builder of the Year for NIHBA. In 2006, he was
awarded the HBAI Builder of the Year for the state of Illinois. Scott currently
serves as a National Director, as well as serving on and chairing many
committees at the state and local level.
STATE REPRESENTATIVE TO NAHB Sam McCann, GMB, CGR, CAPS - McCann Construction, Inc.
Sam McCann is the Owner and
President of McCann Construction, Inc., based in Carlinville, Illinois. He has
earned the Graduate Master Builder (GMB), Certified Graduate Remodelor (CGR),
and Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS) national professional
designations.
McCann began working full-time in construction as a laborer/carpenter in 1987.
In 1993, he established McCann Construction Company and in 1996 moved to his
current offices in Carlinville. In 2004, McCann was named Builder of the Year
by the Springfield Area HBA and was also installed as their President that same
year. McCann was named Builder of the Year by the Home Builders Association of
Illinois in 2005. Over the years he has chaired several committees for his
local association, Springfield Area HBA, as well as the state association. He
has been a National Director since 2003.
